At 59: He's still got it!

Tom Watson(left), Tiger Woods(right)

59...well it must be the new 20 the way Tom Watson is playing in the 138th Open Championship held in Turnberry, Scotland. Just shy of the big 60, Tom Watson a player who has won this major title 5 other times in his huge career as a professional golfer, the only player to actually win a PGA British Open, and Senior British Open at the same venue, has still got the goods to go out and show up the 20-somethings on the tour now. After going out yesterday on a day that was what the Scottish call "grand" and shooting a bogey free 65, and then to follow it up with an even par round of 70 has bested even the number one player in the world Tiger Woods, who missed the cut for only the second time in a major.

Watson and Woods finished their rounds on two different notes. Watson finished his round making a 40ft birdie putt on the 18th green to get himself into the last group for tomorrows round 3, while Woods missed a 30ft birdie chip to even give himself a chance to make the weekend, woods would go on to make par and miss the cut by 1 shot. "It's as if the spirits are on my side," said Watson. For Woods, not so much "Kept making mistake after mistake," said Woods.

With Woods most likely on the G5 heading back to his lovely home on Jupiter Island, you can bet that he is frustrated to say the least. Watson now has a chance to become the oldest person to win a Major, and to tie the record of 6 Open titles held by Harry Vardon.

Even though I'm a huge Tiger Woods fan......GO TOM!!!!!!
